It is solid and since it's a 1/2" cog even if it is more of a generic metal it will hold up fine.If you are testing out chain length and/or gear ratio's, this is a good inexpensive choice as a trial. If you end up using this one long term, you could always buy a more expensive one later. If you find you don't end up using this number of teeth in the rear, you will be GLAD you didn't spend a lot of $ for something to sit on the shelf. I wish it had the number of teeth stamped on it so that I didn't have to count through them every time I pulled it off the shelf to do a swap (I ended up writing on it with a permanent marker since it's silver). Giving it five stars because the price/value is good. Is it as good as an expensive cog? Probably not, but the value is very good on this one. |
