These straps are good. I use them on my fixed gear bike and they work fine. It is sometimes a bit difficult to get my foot inside but it might just be because of the way I adjusted the straps. When I dont put the straps on they drag against the ground but nothing seems to happen to them. I am very pleased. They were the cheapest ones I could fine on amazon and they are great.

I live in Brooklyn and there are plenty of options. There are some straps that are $90. $90!???? These straps are really comfortable, secure, and the feel is superb.

I do love that I can wear any shoes with these straps (without fear of metal piercing leather shoes, etc.), but they have created more problems than they have solved. Simply put: I can't flip the pedal up to get my foot in the strap.

I ride to/from places in an urban setting. Lots of stop & go at lights & stop signs. I currently have MKS GR-9 pedals. The problem is pretty simple and has to do with the weight distribution difference between straps like these and standard toe clips. The weight of the metal toe clip keeps the pedal hanging at a nearly perfectly vertical position (making it possible to grab the lip of the pedal and flip it up with your foot), while the weight of these toe straps cause the pedal to rest at a diagonal angle, making it damn near impossible for your shoe to reach the lip of the pedal and flip it up to get your foot in before you're run over by the car behind you.

A simple solution would be to buy different pedals with more grip for... Read more
